Steven E. LederSteven E. Leder

Steven E. Leder has over 20 years of experience in the principal areas of the firm’s practice. He has represented clients in state and federal court in Maryland, Washington, D.C., Delaware, Virginia, North Carolina, and Wisconsin. These cases have included, in the insurance litigation area, actions concerning CGL coverages, construction, additional insureds, personal injury and advertising injury, environmental liability, products liability, sexual discrimination and harassment, directors’ and officers’ liability, professional liability, E&O liability, “bad faith” and other extra-contractual damage case. In the toxic tort area, he has successfully defended clients in cases involving petroleum, chlorinated solvents, lead paint, asbestos, carbon monoxide, arsenic, asbestos, phosgene, mold and pesticides. In the recreational boating area, he has successfully defended clients in maritime wrongful death, maritime personal injury, environmental contamination, limitations or exoneration, false arrest actions, collision, marina fires and theft or damage at marinas.

Mr. Leder has published and lectured extensively. He regularly acts as the coordinator and instructor for "The Insurance Institute", a MICPEL program. He was for many years on the Executive Committee and Program Chair of the Maryland Defense Counsel. He is a member of the Maritime Law Association of the United States.

Mr. Leder received his J.D. degree from the Gonzaga University School of Law, Cum Laude, in 1978. He received his B.A. degree from the University of Colorado, in 1973.



Julie F. MaloneyJulie F. Maloney

Julie Maloney, partner, focuses her practice on insurance coverage, toxic torts and recreational boating. Ms. Maloney’s caseload has ranged from multi-million dollar construction defect coverage disputes to claims involving D & O coverage issues. Ms. Maloney has defended clients in lead paint, pesticide, carbon monoxide and mold cases. She has successfully defended clients in serious recreational boating accidents.

Ms. Maloney’s articles concerning insurance coverage have been featured in Covered Events. She has lectured on personal injury damages recoverable in Maryland. Ms. Maloney is a member of the Maryland Defense Counsel, the American Bar Association and the Baltimore City Bar Association.

Ms. Maloney is a member of the Bars of the State of Maryland, the United States District Court For the District of Maryland and the United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit. She received her J.D. degree Cum Laude from the University of Baltimore School of Law in 1996, where she served as an editor of University of Baltimore Law Forum. She received her B.A. from the University of Maryland, College Park in 1993.



Thomas W. HaleThomas W. Hale

Thomas W. Hale focuses his practice on toxic torts, recreational boating and insurance defense. He has extensive experience working on matters involving petroleum products, chlorinated solvents, lead paint, carbon monoxide, phosgene, arsenic, mold and pesticides.

Mr. Hale is a member of the Bars of the State of Maryland and the United States District Court for the District of Maryland. He is a member of the Maryland Defense Counsel and the Defense Research Institute. He received his J.D. from the University of Baltimore School of Law in December 2002. He received his B.S. from Villa Julie College in 1995.

Mr. Hale has authored an article titled “Investigating Lead Poisoning Claims.”




Melodie MabantaMelodie M. Mabanta

Melodie M. Mabanta focuses her practice on toxic torts, recreational boating and insurance defense. She has handled toxic tort cases involving lead paint, asbestos and tobacco at the trial and appellate levels. Ms. Mabanta has also defended medical malpractice, faulty construction and other product liability claims. She is a member of the Maryland Defense Counsel and the Defense Research Institute.

Ms. Mabanta is a member of the Bars of Maryland, the District of Columbia, the United States District Court for the District of Maryland and the United States District Court for the District of Columbia. She received her J.D. from Loyola University New Orleans School of Law in 1996, her Master of Liberal Arts from The Johns Hopkins University in 1991 and her B.S. from Towson University in 1987.

 


Rebecca H. BossleRebecca H. Bossle

Rebecca H. Bossle joined the Leder Law Group in June, 2006. She focuses her practice on insurance coverage.

Ms. Bossle is a member of the Bars of the State of Maryland and the United States District Court for the District of Maryland. She is a member of the Maryland Defense Counsel, the Defense Research Institute, and the American, Maryland State and Baltimore City Bar Associations. She received her J.D. from the University of Maryland School of Law in 2003. She received her B.A. cum laude in Economics from St. Mary’s College of Maryland in 2000.
