Steven E. Leder
Steven E. Leder, the founder of the Leder Law Group, has 30 years of experience in the principal areas of the firm’s practice. An AV-rated attorney by Martindale-Hubbell, Mr. Leder has published and lectured extensively.
Mr. Leder has been active in the insurance coverage and defense bars and in particular, litigation training. He regularly acts as the Program Chair and speaker for MICPEL’s commercial insurance program. He is a regular instructor for MICPEL’s Deposition Training course. He was for many years on the Executive Committee and Program Chair of the Maryland Defense Counsel. He is a member of the Maritime Law Association of the United States.
Mr. Leder is a member of the Bars of the State of Maryland and the District of Columbia and admitted to practice before the U.S. District Court for Maryland, the United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit and the United States Supreme Court.
He has been named to the list of Maryland Super Lawyers in 2009, 2008 and 2007, and recognized in the Baltimore Magazine for practice areas that include Insurance Coverage, Environmental Litigation and Transportation / Maritime.
Mr. Leder received his J.D. degree from the Gonzaga University School of Law and his B.S. degree from the University of Colorado in Boulder.
Julie F. Maloney
Julie Maloney, a principal of the firm, focuses her practice on insurance coverage, toxic torts and recreational boating. Ms. Maloney’s caseload has ranged from multi-million dollar construction defect coverage disputes to claims involving D & O coverage issues. Ms. Maloney has defended clients in lead paint, pesticide, carbon monoxide and mold cases. She has successfully defended clients in serious recreational boating accidents.
Ms. Maloney’s articles concerning insurance coverage have been featured in Covered Events. She has lectured on personal injury damages recoverable in Maryland. Ms. Maloney is a member of the Maryland Defense Counsel, the American Bar Association and the Baltimore City Bar Association.
Ms. Maloney is a member of the Bars of the State of Maryland and the United States District Court For the District of Maryland. She received her J.D. degree Cum Laude from the University of Baltimore School of Law in 1996, where she served as a staff editor of University of Baltimore Law Forum. She received her B.A. from the University of Maryland, College Park in 1993.
Thomas W. Hale
Thomas W. Hale, a principal of the firm, focuses his practice primarily in toxic tort and construction litigation. His toxic tort experience includes representing defendants in cases involving lead paint, petroleum products, chlorinated solvents, carbon monoxide, phosgene, arsenic, mold, and pesticides. His construction litigation experience includes representing general contractors and subcontractors in both single family home and condominium settings.
Mr. Hale published an article on investigating lead paint claims for Mealy’s Litigation Report/Lead in 2008.
Mr. Hale is a member of the Bars of the State of Maryland and the United States District Court for the District of Maryland. He is a member of the Maryland Defense Counsel and the Defense Research Institute. He served as an instructor in MICPEL’s Deposition Training Seminar in December 2008. He received his J.D. from the University of Baltimore School of Law in December 2002. He received his B.S. from Villa Julie College in 1995.
Rebecca H. Bossle
Rebecca H. Bossle focuses her practice on insurance coverage.
Ms. Bossle is a member of the Bars of the State of Maryland and the United States District Court for the District of Maryland. She is a member of the Maryland Defense Counsel, the Defense Research Institute (and its Insurance Committee), and the American, Maryland State and Baltimore City Bar Associations.
In 2008, Ms. Bossle co-authored two sections of a DRI Compendium on Attorney’s Fees and Declaratory Judgment Actions (Kansas and South Carolina).
She received her J.D. from the University of Maryland School of Law in 2003. She received her B.A. cum laude in Economics from St. Mary’s College of Maryland in 2000.
Kevin A. Dowgiewicz
Kevin A. Dowgiewicz joined the Leder Law Group in September, 2008. He focuses his practice on toxic torts and construction law.
Mr. Dowgiewicz is admitted to practice in Maryland. He is a member of the Maryland Defense Counsel, Inc., the Defense Research Institute, and the Maryland State and Baltimore County Bar Associations. Mr. Dowgiewicz received his J.D. from the University of Baltimore School of Law in 2007 where he served as Executive Editor of the Intellectual Property Law Journal. He graduated from Georgetown University in 2001 receiving his B.A. in American Government. Prior to joining the Leder Law Group, Mr. Dowgiewicz served as the law clerk to the Hon. H. Patrick Stringer, Jr. in the Circuit Court for Baltimore County.
Michael W. Fox
Michael W. Fox joined the Leder Law Group in June, 2009. He focuses his practice on toxic torts and construction law. Mr. Fox is a member of the Bars of the State of Maryland and the United States District Court for the District of Maryland. He is a member of the Maryland State Bar Association. Mr. Fox received his J.D. cum laude from the University of Maryland School of Law in 2007. He received his B.A. in Biology from Indiana University in 1999. Prior to attending Law School, Mr. Fox worked in the asset management industry as an equity investment analyst.
